Snake had lost count of how many times he had paced the house and the surrounding garden, constantly looking for a possibility to escape.
There had to be way through that weird barrier that kept him imprisoned, and he would find it. Even if he had to dig his way out.

Which is exactly what he's been doing for the past hour now: Digging a hole into the soil with his bare hands, angrily cursing every now and then.

Which won't do any good; the field's more like a giant bubble than anything. Not that Snake would know.

Snake wasn't being stared at five minutes ago, but now he is. Mysteriously.

He stops the moment he notices a sound, a smell, a feeling giving away that he's no longer alone. Without turning around, he clenches his dirty hands into fists.

"What is it this time? You want to rake around in my head some more?"

He sounds puzzled and not at all like Norrin.

"Rake? I don't see any leaves."

Suddenly alarmed, he whirls around to face the stranger, looking no less confused.

"What the hell? How did you get in here?"

"I walked." Obviously.

He takes a few cautious steps towards the stranger, eyeing him warily.

"Yeah, right. What are you, the new warden? What happened to the other guy?"

He doesn't move an inch. "What other guy?"

"The silver freak, of course."

He gives the other man a derogatory look. "Come on, I bet you know him."

He claps his hands together, grinning. "Are you friends with the silver man? What's his name?"

His eyes narrow, and he stops.
"Sure. We're best buddies. Name's possibly Tin Can or something."

"Oh, very good! Will he be here soon?"

He pauses, suddenly not so cheerful. "That's not a real name."

Snake shrugs, unwilling to admit that he hopes so. In order not to starve.

"No, but he's not a real person either, is he?"

"Of course he's a real person. And so am I."

"So? And what kind of person are you?"

"A very real person."

"Yeah, right. ... What are you doing here anyway? Tin can locked you up in here, too?"

"Why would he do that?"

"I don't know? What else would you be doing here in this stupid place?"

"You don't know where you live?"

"Great, that makes two of us. Anyone else here who might be better informed?"
